Data Visibility

Building digital logistics management information systems and improving data for decisionmaking.

To give managers the insight to make the right supply decisions, the project helped 30 countries expand data visibility and build efficient and effective logistics management information systems (LMIS). In 12 countries, this included digital LMISs and data visualization. Better LMISs help increase reporting rates and reduce stockouts.

In Tanzania and Zambia—two countries facing similar challenges—the project supported the governments on a collaborative journey to design, develop, and implement digital management information systems that could meet their needs. Using an open-source platform—part of the Open LMIS initiative, the project worked with the two countries to create state-of-the-art, full-featured, configurable, and extensible digital LMISs that met the needs of their national health commodity supply chains.
