In August 2008, the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT, Task Order 2—implemented by John Snow, Inc.; and with support from USAID’s Avian Influenza Unit; and partners, the Academy for Educational Development (AED) and the Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI)—hosted a kit instructions development workshop. At the workshop, bio-hazard response experts developed step-by-step instructions on how to use the 3-D and Surveillance Biosecurity Kits.

In the past six months, the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT Task Order 2 (Avian Influenza) has
made unprecedented progress in creating systems and delivering avian influenza commodities to the
most at-risk countries worldwide. USAID can now state with confidence that AI containment
commodities are available for delivery to requesting countries on demand in a very short time.
